Sophia-Grace drops “2015 Power Anthem for Females”
Uh… Just what in the Sam Hill is going on here? Make-up and K-Mart and Beats, oh, my! They’re so sneaky, sucking kids in with that catchy track and her mad-eleven-year-old-white-british-girl rap skills until you start listening to the words.
“In the song, titled “Best Friend,” Sophia exudes female empowerment while rapping: “Stupid boys come around/ Me and my girls shut em down/ Nobody can stop us now/ Women take over we run this town.”
Wise beyond her 11 years.
“I’m so excited to release this song as I think all girls can relate to the lyrics,” Sophia told Ryan Seacrest.
Very true, because who among us hasn’t jammed out at the local Kmart with our crews? (Note: Sophia has a clothing line at Kmart, as all important preteens do.)

My daughter, Sophie is eleven. Ain’t no “boys comin’ ’round” for anybody to “shut down” with their super-girl posse. This has me a little hot under my conflicted collar. Full disclosure: We have watched many a hilarious Sophie-Grace and Rosie video clip in the past (i.e., pre full-blown-follow-the-money-trail-exploitation), but this wrapped up as “feminism” with hot pink lip gloss on top as any kind of an example for young girls is more than a little ridiculous. Most concerning is that this darling little girl actually believes what she is saying.
I am so Seacrest out! on this one.
